The longlist of ten was announced last week, and showcases some of the most diverse new writing talent published in Britain. Ali Shaw’s first novel, THE GIRL WITH GLASS FEET, is a love story set in a snowbound archipelago, whereas Ed Hollis’s THE SECRET LIVES OF BUILDINGS presents a history of the world’s most famous architecture. ‘It’s a wonderful and unexpected surprise to make it onto such a varied and exciting longlist, and it gives the launch of the book next week a marvellous fillip,’ said Ed last night. You can read Ali Shaw’s response on the views section of our website.
