Dr Bradshaw to Support Cats

We are delighted to announce, following the recent success of Dr John Bradshaw’s new non-fiction book, In Defence of Dogs, that Patrick has struck a deal for a new book with Will Goodlad at Penguin UK and Lara Heimert at Basic Books US, provisionally entitled In Support of Cats.

image Bradshaw founded the scientific discipline of anthrozoology, and In Support of Cats will be a scientific guide to felines, looking at the history of cats’ domestication, as well as new scientific insight on the best nutrition and treatment of cats, dispelling myths around the animal and its relationship with humans.

‘The evolutionary history of cats is fascinating,’ says Will Goodlad, ‘and our knowledge of cats is surprisingly limited too… We’re very excited and we’re very confident John will do a great job as he has with In Defence of Dogs.’

In Defence of Dogs, which was published in the US as Dog Sense, became a New York Times bestseller recently after Dr John Bradshaw’s appearance on several high profile shows there. The book was also #5 in hardback non-fiction in the Sunday Times bestseller list yesterday. You can buy the book from all good bookstores.
