Conville & Walsh are delighted to announce a new deal for Charlie Brooker, with World rights to two books sold by Jo to Rowland White at Orion’s Swordfish imprint.
The first, Everybody’s Got One, is described as ‘a typically spiky, entertaining and surprising romp around the human body.’ The book will address questions such as ‘Could our bodies become obsolete?’, ‘How can we rid ourselves of bothersome thoughts?’, and ‘Which is the least useful finger?’.
White said: ‘Thought-provoking, honest, and unpredictable, Charlie is a true original, a writer with a unique voice that’s often been imitated, but never equalled. And he makes me laugh out loud in public.’
Charlie has worked across the spectrum of media, as a writer, producer, journalist, cartoonist and television and radio presenter. He has had a string of recent successes, including: You Have Been Watching, a comedy quiz based on television; Charlie Brooker’s Screenwipe, a BBC Four TV review show, which he wrote and presented, and which won a Royal Television Society award; and Newswipe, a critically-acclaimed spin-off series which exposes the inner workings of news media and the way the news is presented to us. Charlie also won this year’s Press Award for columnist of the year, for his writing in the Guardian.
Everybody’s Got One will be published in October 2012 as a £20 hardback and £10.99 e-book.
