Matt Haig’s novels include the bestsellers The Last Family in England, The Radleys and The Humans. His books have been translated into 30 languages. All his novels for adults have been optioned for film, by such people as Plan B/Brad Pitt (The Last Family in England), BFI/Tanya Seghatchian (The Humans), Parallel Films (The Possession of Mr Cave) and Alfonso Cuaron(The Radleys). He has also written screenplays and novels for children, including Shadow Forest, To Be A Cat, the YA novel Echo Boy and most recently the hugely successful A Boy Called Christmas. He won the TV Book Club book of the series, and has been shortlisted for a Galaxy National Book Award. The Humans was chosen as a 2014 World Book Night title. His children’s novels have won the Smarties Gold Medal, the Blue Peter Book of the Year, been shortlisted for the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize and nominated for the Carnegie Medal three times. His most recent book Reasons to Stay Alive spent over 14 weeks in The Sunday Times bestseller list. The Guardian summed up his writing as ‘funny, clever and quite, quite lovely’ by The Times and the New York Times called him ‘a writer of great talent’. His favourite colour is indigo and he likes peanut butter on toast.
