About John Emsley


John Emsley lectured in chemistry for twenty years in the University of London before becoming a freelance writer. Since 1997, he has been based in the Department of Chemistry, University of Cambridge, as Science Writer in Residence. In 1992 he won a Glaxo Award for broadcast writing and in 1995 he won the Rhone-Polenc Science Book Prize for THE CONSUMER’S GOOD CHEMICAL GUIDE. In 2003 he was awarded the German Chemical Society’s Writer’s Award.
