Charlie Brooker has worked across the spectrum of media, as a writer, producer, journalist, cartoonist and television and radio presenter. He has had a string of recent successes, including: You Have Been Watching, a comedy quiz based on television, which Charlie hosts for Channel 4; Charlie Brooker’s Screenwipe, a BBC Four TV review show, which he writes and presents, and which won a Royal Television Society award this year; and Newswipe, a critically-acclaimed spin-off series which exposes the inner workings of news media and the way the news is presented to us.

Last year Charlie also wrote and produced Dead Set, a BAFTA-nominated satirical horror drama for Channel 4. Other TV writing credits include the 11 O’Clock Show and the Brass Eye Paedophilia Special. 

Charlie is creator of TVGoHome, the hugely successful satirical website, which was turned into a book by Fourth Estate and a sketch show for Channel 4.  Also borne out of the website was the Channel 4 cult comedy drama, Nathan Barley, which Charlie co-wrote with Chris Morris. 

As a journalist, Charlie is well-known for his weekly columns in The Guardian - his Monday column and Screen Burn, a TV review column - and won The Press Awards’ columnist of the year 2009.
