After studying Philosophy in Sheffield, Susan worked at Pan Macmillan Publishers before joining Conville & Walsh in 2005. As well as working closely with Clare Conville, Susan manages her own list of eclectic and award winning and nominated writers.

“I am particularly interested in launching debut authors of both literary and upmarket fiction, looking always for a powerful voice, originality, whether it be from plot, theme, setting etc., and high quality of writing, regardless of genre. I am also interested in teen/YA novels that take the reader on a thrilling journey and have an element of fantasy, science-fiction or magical realism. Again, a strong voice is paramount. Dark, quirky and unusual works are especially welcome.

“For non-fiction, I’m most interested to see memoirs of extraordinary childhoods or love stories set in far flung places of the world.”
